Cinnamon Queen Started Pullet

Product Overview

The Cinnamon Queen Started Pullet is a 15 to 22 week old female chicken that is close to laying age and ready to become a productive addition to your backyard flock. This is a strong choice for customers who want an early-maturing, high-demand brown egg layer without raising day-old chicks.

Cackle Hatchery® offers Cinnamon Queen Started Pullets as older female birds. Each pullet is priced at $46.00, with a maximum of 2 per order only. Cackle’s grown fowl category confirms that all started pullets are 15 to 22 weeks old and vaccinated for Marek’s disease at no additional charge.

Shipping and handling charges are:

1 bird: $231.00
2 birds: $276.00

These started pullets are vaccinated for Marek’s disease at no additional charge. They are fed non-GMO feed from day one, raised with human interaction to help reduce flightiness, and grown in large areas with other birds.

Why Choose Started Pullets?

Started pullets are ideal for customers who want female chickens already past the baby chick stage. Since these birds are 15 to 22 weeks old, they are much closer to laying age than day-old chicks.

They can be a strong choice if you want:

A 15 to 22 week old female chicken
A bird closer to laying age
A Marek’s vaccinated pullet
A bird fed non-GMO feed from day one
A pullet raised with human interaction
A less flighty backyard flock addition
A high-production brown egg layer
A modern hybrid chicken for farm or backyard use

Started pullets still need a safe transition period when they arrive. Provide clean water, proper feed, secure housing, predator protection, and time to settle into the flock.

Breed Overview and Hybrid Background

The Cinnamon Queen is one of Cackle Hatchery®’s modern brown egg laying hybrid strains. It was developed for fast body development, early egg production, and rich brown eggshell color.

Cackle’s Cinnamon Queen chick listing describes this hybrid as a color-sexable layer that matures early and produces large to extra-large brown eggs. The parent stock is made from Cackle Hatchery®’s proprietary Rhode Island Red male bloodline or strain crossed with a Rhode Island White female bloodline or strain.

Because Cinnamon Queens are hybrids, they are not pure heritage breed chickens. They are production birds designed for egg output, fast development, strong early performance, and practical flock use.

Appearance and Characteristics

Cinnamon Queen pullets are brownish red as chicks and mature into hens with variable brownish and white feathering. Adult hens may show a mix of warm red-brown feathers and white feathers, giving them an attractive cinnamon-toned look in the flock.

Cockerel chicks are white, while pullet chicks are more brownish red in the first generation. Adult roosters can vary from mostly white to white with light or dark red shoulder feathering.

Leg color is mostly yellow, though a few birds may show some greenish color. This natural variation is part of the hybrid’s appearance.

Egg Production and Early Laying Value

Cinnamon Queens are bred for fast egg production and large to extra-large brown eggs. They typically start laying at a younger age than many standard heritage breeds, making them a practical choice for customers who want eggs sooner.

Cackle’s Cinnamon Queen fertile hatching egg page describes the Cinnamon Queen as a hybrid breed and a great layer of large brown eggs that can start laying around 4 months old.

Because these started pullets are already 15 to 22 weeks old, they may begin laying sooner after arrival than day-old chicks, depending on age, season, daylight, feed, stress, and individual development.

Customers comparing productive brown egg layers can browse Cackle’s Brown Egg Layer Chickens and Egg Laying Chickens categories. Cackle’s brown egg layer category includes a wide variety of brown egg laying chicken breeds for customers comparing flock options.

Color-Sexable First Generation Chicks

Cinnamon Queens are color sexable as first-generation chicks. That means males and females can be identified by color at hatch in the original cross.

For this first-generation cross:

Cockerel chicks are white.
Pullet chicks are more brownish red.

This is helpful for chick identification, but customers should understand that second-generation chicks will not be color sexable and can come in multiple colors. Cinnamon Queen genetics are designed as a first-generation hybrid cross, not as a breed that reproduces predictably generation after generation.

Cinnamon Queen vs ISA Brown Type Layers

Cackle notes that its Cinnamon Queens look and perform very close to the ISA Brown bloodline. That makes them a strong option for customers who want a practical, high-demand production layer with early development and large brown eggs.

Choose Cinnamon Queens if your goal is dependable farm egg production, early laying, and a practical hybrid hen for backyard or small farm use. Customers who want a pure heritage breed may prefer Rhode Island Reds, Delaware chickens, Barred Rocks, or other standard breeds instead.

Cinnamon Queen Started Pullet vs Day-Old Chicks

Choose a started pullet if you want an older female bird that is closer to laying age and already past the brooder stage.

Choose day-old Cinnamon Queen chicks if you want a lower starting price, more order flexibility, or the experience of raising chicks from the beginning. Cackle’s chick page describes Cinnamon Queens as color-sexable hybrid layers that mature early and produce large to extra-large brown eggs.

Started pullets are especially helpful for customers who want eggs sooner and do not want to manage heat lamps, brooders, and early chick care.

Cinnamon Queen vs Red Sex Link

Cinnamon Queens and Red Sex Link chickens are both hybrid brown egg layers, but they come from different crosses.

Choose Cinnamon Queen if you want Cackle’s proprietary Rhode Island Red male crossed with a Rhode Island White female, a hybrid that performs close to the ISA Brown type, and a high-demand farm layer for large to extra-large brown eggs.

Choose Red Sex Link Started Pullets if you want Cackle’s Rhode Island Red and Delaware hybrid cross. Both can be excellent backyard or farm layers, but Cinnamon Queen is especially positioned for fast body development, early laying, and rich brown eggshell color.

Cinnamon Queen vs Golden Comet

Cinnamon Queen and Golden Comet chickens are both color-sexable hybrid layers bred for early maturity and large to extra-large brown eggs. Cackle’s Golden Comet listing describes that hybrid as a color-sexable layer that matures early and produces large to extra-large brown eggs.

Choose Cinnamon Queen if you want this specific Cackle Hatchery® hybrid strain and its Rhode Island Red x Rhode Island White background. Choose Golden Comet if you prefer that hybrid layer option. Both are strong choices for customers who want efficient brown egg production rather than purebred breeding.

Cinnamon Queen vs Rhode Island Red

The Cinnamon Queen uses a Rhode Island Red male line as part of its parent stock, but it is not the same as a pure Rhode Island Red.

Choose Cinnamon Queen if your main goal is modern hybrid production, early laying, and color-sexable first-generation chicks. Choose Rhode Island Red chickens if you want a true heritage breed with a long American history and a pure production-type bloodline.

Customers may also compare Rhode Island Red Started Pullets if they want older female birds closer to laying age.

Started Pullet Guarantee and Refund Note

Cackle Hatchery® does not offer reshipments for these birds. Only a refund of the bird cost is offered under the started pullet policy.

Customers should review Cackle Hatchery’s Chicken Guarantees and Policies page before ordering started pullets. The policy page includes a specific Started Pullets Guarantee section.

Because started pullets are live juvenile birds, customers should be ready to receive them promptly and move them into safe, prepared housing. Provide water immediately, keep the environment calm, and allow time for the birds to adjust after shipping.
