The Baby Chick Playground
The Baby Chick Playground
The Baby Chick Playground gives young chicks a fun, useful place to roost, hop, rest, and explore inside the brooder. Handmade in the USA, this exclusive chick playground helps fight boredom while encouraging natural activity during those important early weeks.
Chicks naturally want to perch, climb, and investigate their surroundings. The Baby Chick Playground gives them a safe place to practice those behaviors while staying inside the brooder.
It is recommended for chicks one week to eight weeks old.
Why Chicks Love It
Baby chicks are active little birds, and a plain brooder can get boring fast. The Baby Chick Playground adds enrichment by giving chicks something to climb on, hop around, roost on, and rest against.
The holes in the side provide extra roosting space and give chicks another way to move through the playground. Some chicks may even enjoy hopping through the openings or sleeping inside them.
This simple brooder accessory helps support natural chick behavior in a fun, practical way.
Encourages Natural Roosting Instincts
The Baby Chick Playground is designed to encourage a chicken’s natural instinct to roost. As chicks grow, they begin to test their balance, strengthen their legs, and explore higher resting spots.
Adding a small roosting area to the brooder can help chicks:
Practice perching
Stay active
Build confidence
Use their legs and feet
Reduce boredom
Explore their brooder safely
Rest somewhere other than the bedding
For many chicks, this becomes a favorite spot in the brooder.
Helpful for Brooder Activity and Comfort
A good brooder setup should keep chicks warm, safe, clean, and active. The Baby Chick Playground adds a little structure to the space so chicks can move naturally throughout the day.
It can also give smaller or more timid chicks a place to move away from the group. If one chick is getting picked on or bullied, the openings and structure may give her a helpful place to hide or get out of the way.
While it does not replace proper brooder management, it can make the brooder more interesting and comfortable for the flock.
Handmade in the USA
The Baby Chick Playground is made by hand in the USA. Its simple, practical design makes it a helpful addition for chick owners who want to give their brood more than just feed, water, heat, and bedding.
Because it is handmade, each playground may have slight natural variation. That gives the product a more personal, crafted feel while still serving the same purpose in the brooder.
Placement and Safety Tips
Place The Baby Chick Playground far enough away from the heat source so it does not overheat. It should also sit far enough away from brooder walls so chicks can easily move around it.
Good placement matters. Chicks should be able to reach the playground, move around it, and get away from it comfortably.
For best results:
Keep it away from direct heat
Leave walking space around all sides
Avoid blocking feed or water
Watch how chicks use it
Adjust placement if the brooder feels crowded
Keep bedding clean and dry around it
Check chicks often during the first few days of use
Always use a safe brooder heat source and monitor the brooder temperature carefully.
Best Age Range
The Baby Chick Playground is recommended for chicks one week to eight weeks old.
Very young chicks need warmth, rest, feed, and water first. Once they are steady on their feet and ready for more activity, the playground can help keep them entertained and moving.
As chicks grow larger, watch their size and behavior. Remove the playground when the chicks outgrow it or when it no longer fits safely in the brooder.
Size
The Baby Chick Playground measures approximately:
Medium: 7 1/2 inches high x 14 inches wide x 12 inches deep when fully assembled
Because brooder setups vary, measure your space before ordering to make sure the playground fits comfortably with room for chicks to move around it.
